What were pivotal events that lead to the creation of Rise Magazine?/ What motivated you to create this magazine? At first, creating Rise Magazine was about curiosity and becoming a Graphics Designer (www.chailam.wix.com/pure). I wanted to home in on my skills and see what I can do and how I can develop it. I love composition and being able to imagine all these images flowing through my head, I realised I wanted to create more than that. Not only do I want it to flow and tell a story, I want contents for the audience to read and also share their portfolio online. Thus making a website, social groups online, print and video content to share once our contributors have been featured. It is always a pleasure to know someone is happy about their work and they should feel very proud!
4. What were some of the challenges in creating and developing this magazine? The most challenging task in creating this magazine was having other personal work of my own, organisation is key and I make sure I have fulfilled each task I do in a timely manner. As well as doing this magazine, I am a full time Graphics Designer and a part time model (http://www.instagram.com/jadesakura). Time is very precious to me and so is being creative to each work I do: the magazine layout requires composition, modelling - fitness and knowing how to pose and express your facial features and Graphics requires customer satisfaction. All three has something in common, attention to detail. 5. What was your most memorable experience in publishing a post or experience in investigating a post? Memorable experience in publishing a post or experience in investigating a post- Kerri Jean’s front cover shoot. Although she lives in the states, Facebook has featured a live stream at that point and to see the shoot in action was just amazing! It felt like I was in the studio with her and I can tell the images were going to be incredible.
6. Which Issue do you think was Rise Magazine's best and why? Best issue was the Makeup Edition Issue 2, I did this magazine solely for Makeup Artist where they can go beyond their imagination and create something bizarre or out of this world. I was astonished with the results and very fortunate for the artist to take part in this magazine. 7. At the top of your head list your top three front page covers.
8. Who has been the most memorable and influential person you have ever met while doing this magazine and why? During the making of Rise, every one who contributed and took the time to make an amazing shoot has been all memorable. I would want to thank the audience for the positive support and joy they bring to the Rise Magazine. The most heart warming feeling was my team, Kerri Jean, Julie Powers, Pam Fields and Kaylen Shelby who supported and stood by Rise Magazine, they have helped me in sharing the work load I was doing myself and I can not ask for a better team! 9. Presently how do you see this magazine developing? Each issue we aim to develop every little details and contents, it has gone from a simple look book to featuring profiles, written articles, advertisement and soon to be doing interview with artists. Your suggestions and ideas are important to us, feedback from members or new contributors will help improve Rise Magazine constantly and provide better services, features and experiences for you all.
